Mr Mohamed Abdulmajed
Mr. Abdulmajed qualified from medical school in 2004 with a distinction in his degree. He then completed a 2-year training scheme in urology and infertility management at European Board of Urology (EBU)-certified training centre at Ankara University Hospital in Turkey (2006-2008).
Following that, he moved to the UK to start his urology clinical fellow post at EBU Centre of Excellence - St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London in 2010.
After completing basic surgical training and winning the ‘Best Welsh Surgical Trainee’ prize awarded by Wales Deanery, Mr. Abdulmajed pursued a speciality doctor career in urology in a friendly hospital in North Wales (Wrexham Maelor). He is currently finishing his Master’s Degree in urology in University College London (UCL) and is keen to continue his academic achievements with a PhD degree in the future.
Mr. Abdulmajed is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and he enjoys running teaching sessions for junior medics. Additionally, he is a regular faculty member in FRCS Urology Revision course (examination preparation course).
Miss Victoria Stainer
Victoria is a second year core surgical trainee currently employed by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).
Victoria is originally from the Isle of Wight and qualified from Bristol University in 2013. She spent two months in Cape Town, South Africa in the plastic surgery department before starting her foundation training in Southampton General Hospital.
She has achieved her MRCS and is now pursuing a career in Urology, focusing her attention to research and development within that field.
Mr Issam Ahmed
Issam graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura, Egypt in 2002. He subsequently gained his Masters in Urology in 2010, with the thesis submitted to fulfil the degree, entitled “Effect of management of obstructive LUTS due to BPH on erectile function”. During 2012, Issam gained Intercollegiate Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (IMRCS).
Issam has skills and expertise in the following areas of urology:
Endourologic management of stone disease including ureteroscopy and percutaneous surgery
Endourologic management of over active bladder and bladder BOTOX injections
Endourologic management of urologic tumours
Endourologic management of prostatic hyperplasia
Endourologic management of urethral and ureteral strictures and PUJO
Open urologic surgeries both ablative and reconstructive
Management of urologic emergencies
Perioperative patient care including preoperative assessment and preparation and postoperative care
Issam is a member of the NW2URC research team and is actively involved with the kidney stone and bladder cancer studies.
Mr Anish Pushkaran
Mr Muhammad Iqbal
Muhammad is employed by Betsi cadwaldr university health board as a specialist registrar in Urology.
Muhammad has graduated from Pakistan in 2007 and has since then completed his training in urology and holds a fellowship in urology from Pakistan
Muhammad has been part of the ongoing research activities within north Wales in association with North Wales and north west urological research centre.
He is currently involved in a potentially ground breaking audit which involves looking at the important role of template biopsy in diagnosing prostate cancer and will also be the forefront of his thesis.
Muhammad is currently completing his Masters in urology (ChM urology) from the university of Edinburgh.
